At our April 25 meeting, Steve Giles discussed the efforts of
openNMS.org to establish
the world's best network management software as an open community effort.
Through a core group of self-funded developers leveraged with
assistance from volunteers from prominent network equipment vendors,
Steve's organization hopes to develop better network management
software that can be updated more rapidly to accommodate
new devices than the larger manufacturers can manage.
